a la recherche du temps claude monet

A travelogue with artist – analogue photographer Betsy Green following in the footsteps of the French impressionist painter Claude Monet [1840-1926] in Brittany and Normandy, France. Most of the locations photographed here were also visited by him and consequentially painted, but some not.

Respectively we travelled to Mont Saint-Michel, Cap Frehel / Fort La Latte and Pointe du Pen-hir, Belle-Ile-en-Mer / The Needles of Port-Coton, the Alignments of Carnac and to Locmariaquer Megalith. We ended our travelogue visiting Claude Monet’s garden in Giverny, France.

All photographs were made in the summer of 2019 and are presented here in a mix. This portfolio also has a few photographs taken at the Gemeentemuseum The Hague in the Netherlands at an exhibition [2020] dedicated to the works of Claude Monet.
